Vintage Native American Turquoise Ring, Signed, Sterling Silver, Size 13

Completely handmade and absolutely one of a kind, this incredible ring was crafted by a master silver smith in the 1960s or so. I was told that the gem is fossilized bone - the matrix certainly has an unusual pattern to it! The matrix is deep, smoky color silver, and has a lot of grid like lines.
The fact that this is so very large, along with the hand stamped leaf pattern that lays over the top of the gemstone, leads me to believe that this was custom made for a specific individual - we can only wonder exactly who wore it, and what it means to them!
This is signed on the reverse with the name of the maker - W. Estefan Caronia - (the last name may be Caconia? Laconia? )
Measures 2 full inches long and 3/4-1 inch wide. Size 13.25 (I would not size this as the heat could damage the stone, but I'm happy to insert a ring sizer to make it smaller.)
