Georgian Hazel Sapphire & 18K Gold, Diamond Ring, Size 7 3/4 - From England, 1920s Neo-Georgian

The era of the 1920s goes by many names - Prohibition Era, Early Art Deco, The Roaring Twenties - and in England, it was often called Georgian Revival. The term Georgian Revival referenced the return of original Georgian (1710's to 1830's) style architecture and design. Buildings, jewelry and artworks from this Georgian Revival Era are sometimes called Neo-Georgian, as well!

The 1920s brought new flair and combinations to the traditional Georgian styles, as well. Bezel setting gems low to the finger was again popular, along with including diamonds as accent gems. This time around, instead of silver or foil, platinum was used to surround the diamonds, giving them a brighter sparkle!

This particular ring is particularly interesting - the gem at the center is a bright, Hazel hued Sapphire. The stone is golden brown with hightlights of honey and soft green undertones. The diamonds on either side are single cuts, helping confirm the age of this lovely ring!

Gems: Two Single Cut Diamonds weighing approximately .03ct each and measuring approximately .02mm each
The center stone is Sapphire, golden brown with hints of green. It measures approximately 7.5 x 5.5mm Oval and weighs approximately 1 carat.
Marks: "18ct" is stamped inside, as well as a maker's mark that I can't read.
Size: This ring is a size 7 3/4. The top of the ring measures 8mm North to South and 12mm East to West.
